Irish Association Of Self Builders was launched in August 2003. We are the representative body for Self Builders of Ireland.
Iaosb.Com was started to help Self Builders understand the process of building a house in Ireland and since its launch back on 1st of January 2004 it has become the largest construction web site in Ireland.
For the past 11 years, our website has constantly been ranked number one with all major search engines in the world for “building a house in Ireland” or similar phrases.
We have become a recognised organisation throughout the industry and have been featured in the national newspapers as well as many publications like Build your House and Home 2007 & 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and more. We are ranked in the top 10 in the world by Alexa for the most visited and most popular website for DIY.
We have been featured in the media during 2013, 2014 and 2015 fighting for the rights of Self Builders in a campagn against Building Control (Amendment) Regulations S.I.9 of 2014, We have been represented in the Dail by T.D’s and in the seanad by Senators. We were the only consumer group to be represented in the public consultancy meeting held by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government regarding BCAR S.I.9. Our campain was successeful and BCAR S.I.9 of 2014 was replaced by BCAR 365 of 2015 on 1st of September 2015. Self Builders of Ireland now have the right to build their home for themselves and their families as they have done for the past decades.
